Leblanc making a name for himself
After a hiatus on the West coast, Mike's back and taking the NCPT by storm
Mike Leblanc wins the blinds with a pre-flop raise.
By Matt Cox
Mike Leblanc continues his hot streak, which includes two recent heads up losses to Dom Peluso, and another final table appearance. With his career winnings at $1020 in only 14 NCPT appearances, it ranks him first on the all-time list for money won, per tournament played. (Minimum 10 games played). An impressive achievement.
As this tournament took place approximately 2 years ago, my memory's a little hazy, but I'll do my best. A bunch of bad beats resulted in the Final Four of myself, Mike, Dean McKeown and the returning Trevor Forbes playing in his first tournament in over a year and a half. An impressive showing, but one which netted him fourth place. I bowed out in 3rd with what was probably some HORRIBLE beat....actually, now that I think of it, the horrible beat cost me half my stack at the final table earlier on, and I was unable to recover, dwindling down into 3rd place. Suppose I could rewrite that so it doesn't sound like I'm just typing whateverthefuck's on my brain, but nah. Too lazy. Can you believe how well the Sens and Leafs are doing? Craziness.
Mike and Dean squared off in the Final 2, with Mike owning a decent chip stack, but Dean making some aggressive plays to even things out. Mike eventually settled in and beat Dean for his 2nd NCPT Title.
Thanks again to Campbell for hosting. We'll be doubling up some tourneys in the coming month, having 2 tourneys in one month at the beginning and end. In the meantime, we're currently scheduling our November tourney, so stay tuned.
(Will also be performing some website maintenance in the coming days so stay tuned for that.) Sorry for the late updates, as always, I shall aim to have these up sooner!
